Good Points

Highly readable and informative, it offers a great history of Inca culture and reasonable explanations for some of the unknowns of Inca history. We just returned from a long trip to Ecuador and Peru and felt well informed on what we were seeing from having read this book.

Bad Points

General Comments

The White Rock by Hugh Thomson is highly readable and informative. I had an expert in Inca history and culture in Peru comment repeatedly on how much Peruvian history I seemed to know. He was not familiar with this book, and asked me to send him a copy, which I will. I think it should be required reading for anyone setting off to see Machu Pichu.
