The buffalo leather is too die for. It arrives soft and already feels broken in. This is the Cushiest, stick-too-it CC saddle I've ever tried. And it's beautiful. Wool flocking means you'll have it for years and years with an occasional restuffing. And the gullet is quite wide to keep your weight off the horse's spine. They will make a custom extended forward or longer flap upon request.
Like many new saddles, it needs to be fitted bc the panels come rounded and need a little flattening for maximum weight distribution. Ride in it a few weeks to distribute what's there. Then a fitter can remove the excess. This is a traditional hunt seat saddle and does position the rider forward. With shims, you can shift the seat to ride on your balance point.
I love these saddles. They are great for wide bodied horses, and I don't own an arab. Just a 1600 lb thoroughbred and a round pony. I have both the buffalo leather and the french calf skin. The buffalo leather is my favorite for it's "stick" and softness. It arrived new with the leather feeling like it was already well oiled and broken in. I bought the calf skin used, but it was supple as well. They are really comfortable and fit my longer leg. My 13 yo step daughter loves the french cafe skin. It fits her well and she's still avg height for her age.
