I Have had the luck to obtain a Mint Blue 2000 5jj Yamaha R1 with only 5000 miles on the clock.
My previous steed being a srad GSXR600.
In Comparison, I loved my Gixxer, but having the R1 now for 4 months, the smooth power even from 6th, just winding on the throttle and your'e like a rocket.
I've been told mine is the last of the carb models and a bit of a loon to ride. But every time I ride it, it just puts a big grin on my face. I have treated it with a bit of respect slowly finding the limits.
Off to the TT in a coulpe of weeks, so looking forward to getting out there for some proper unrestricted fun fun fun.
