Good Points

Cute, cuddly

General Comments

These soft toys are designed to be cute yet ugly and to be an antidote to the typical image of a doll or soft toy of conforming to a standard of attractiveness. They're soft, they quirky and both adults and children will love the characters, each of which comes with its own personality traits.

How long have these Ugly Dolls been around? I just read about them last week in the NY TIMES..and I was shocked. They seem to be ripping off Kringo Babies dolls...but they're not half as good. Kringo has been doing this since the late 90s. Some are on his webpage http://home.earthlink.net/~artistkringo/joybabies.html

Which came first? It looks to me as if these Ugly Dolls are just Kringo Babies Lite!

Kingo babies look nothing like Uglydolls.

Uglydolls came about in 2002 but I have been a fan of Horvath's art since 1990. Uglys look exactly like his older works.

I did a search for Kringo babies and they are nothing like Uglydolls.

I give Uglydolls a 10. We have all 9 plus the Giant Robot version of Ice Bat, and we have 6 of the 9 vinyls.
