Bad Points

Worried about the lack of a disk brake on the rear tyre, although the combined breaking system does slow you down, effectively. The choice of paint (plastic) jobs is very limited but this may change year on year.

General Comments

From a "Learner`s" point of view, the Honda SH125 is quick, nippy, but you are not going to break any road speed records, just yet. It`s well lit up from the front - Halogen headlight is good enough, and the side lights add to your immediate vision at night. Indicators are highly visible and well placed and the tail/break light is highly visible both during the day and night. A 35 litre Back box (Supplied free from some agents), matching the overall colour is very useful, as it can contain a full face helmet, locks and gloves with ease. The underseat capacity, is limited, but as it gets quite warm in there, it is still the best place to store your fish and chips. If you are doing a long term journey, you could probably bake a few potatoes in there - not tried it, so don`t complain. I would recommend an alarm system is fitted as there is plenty of space to do this: but you also need to fit a trickle charge cable, as any alarm system will take it off your battery. Top speed, I don`t know, my dealer suggests 70mph but the included manual says it can do 80mph. Overall, I think it is an excellent commuter scooter - love the sound of the engine! Overall, I certainly would recommend the Honda SH125i, as it does beat most of the traffic in acceleration terms, although you do come across car driving nutters (young lads) who will beat you in a drag race. On a comfort level, the seat is high, but well placed, particularly if you have a long trip in mind. The ride height of the SH125i is very good, but you need length of legs to accomodate it - Try before you buy. The engine really purrs; it might make you think that you are riding a more powerful machine. The looks - You do get looks - its different, but very posey and sexy! And should you have passed your motorcyckle test, I would go for the Honda SH300i; just as sexy but far more powerful.
