Good Points

The LG Flatron 775FT IS perfectly flat, The brightness and contrast is fantastic. The monitor's antiglare coating is a great benifit. The focus is amazing.

Bad Points

Its resolution maxes out at 1280*1024 -- too low a working reso for this monitor.

General Comments

The LG Flatron 775FT is perfectly flat, and when I saw it for the first time, it looked concave. However, I soon got used to seeing this monitor as flat, so much so, that when I look at the monitor on my old computer, or for that matter, any one elses computer, they look like big round balloons!

The brightness and contrast is fantastic. Watching DVDs on this thing is better than watching it on TV. I compared the picture quality with a 15' Samsung monitor in my friends house, and I couldnt believe the difference! In his house, you just couldnt make out anything on the screen, especially in dark scenes, with the lights on!!! So much for the guy who said it was too bright.

The monitor's antiglare coating is a great benifit. I have 2 large windows in my room, and I have an obsession for bright illumination. On my old monitor, I could see the reflections of just about every thing in my old room, which really hurt my eyes, but on this monitor, I cant see any reflections at all, even with all the lights on and windows open!!!

The focus is amazing. Even in the highest resolutions you can differentiate every single pixel, which some people might construe as a bad point. This is a paradox in a way. On worse monitors, jpg wallpapers seem to look crisp in all resolutions. However, half my wallpapers look flawed on this 17 monitor -- not because the monitor is unclear, but because it is TOO clear. I can see all the 'artifacts' in the compression. The same thing happens with games -- you find the realism a bit less because you can see the edges of every object.

For me though, this is a very GOOD point. Whats the use of having a monitor if you cant SEE everything as it really is? If I am working on a graphic file, shouldnt I have the right to know exactly how it will look if printed? I think so. So dont settle for blurry monitors that fool you...

The Flatron price is double that of a 15' normal monitor. But, after SEEING the difference, I think the price is worth it!!!

DOWN SIDE: Its resolution maxes out at 1280*1024 -- at 60Hz. Now, while I was more than happy working at 60Hz on my old 14' monitor, it is unbearable on this one. This is because its brightness is so much more that the flicker at 60Hz is more noticible. And the other reason is because you tend to get used to 70Hz+ at low resos. Also, 1024*768 gives you larger icons and pixels than 800*600 on a 14' monitor. So 1024*768 is too low a working reso for this monitor.
