On entering the restaurant for breakfast on our first day, we were greeted with a stern looking female with no warmth or friendliness about her. She did not say good morning on any of the three days that we stayed at the Seafood Hotel and also St Edmunds House and made our eating experience very uncomfortable.
Our reservation to celebrate my 60th birthday was booked by my son at least six months in advance. However, the reservation desk still managed to get the day wrong and insisted that we sit at a table which we had not asked for. Due to more problems not expected at this class of restaurant, we decided to cancel our booking which was very disappointing as we had travelled a long way to be together for my special birthday meal. I feel that the majority of staff at the restaurant and on the reception desk could not have cared less whether we were satisfied or happy. The young girls on the reception desk were either busy chatting between themselves or nowhere to be found when needed. The service we experienced throughout our time was very disappointing and if asked if I could recommend it then I would have no hesitation in saying No.
