Ease of operation, low running costs, excellent reliability. Very flexible gearing - particularly 3rd.
No intermittent wash wipe. Handling a tad sloppy -cars from 1996 onwards apparently have sharper handling.
I have Nissan Micra K11 1.0l a 1993 1.0L 3dr which I bought used in 1999. It is my first car and has proved to be exceptionally reliable, needing only routine maintenance and replacement of wear and tear items (although the starter motor did fail at approx 62,000 miles). Performance is surprisingly good for such a small engine and it happily - if a bit noisily - cruise at motorway speeds.
If you are considering buying one then make sure it has a full service history with evidence of oil changes every 4,500 miles or 6 months regardless of mileage. This is because the engine has timing chains instead of belts which are less likely to wear out if the oil is changed frequently.
Also, do not start the car and move it quickly before switching the engine off. For some reason the ECU gets confused and causes the engine to flood leading to difficulty starting next time you try to use it.
