Badala Park is cheap and cheerful. We would definitely stay there again. My suggestion to anyone wanting to go to The Gambia is do your homework and read up on it!!! Its brilliant!! Just got back from having read the brochure we new the hotel wasn't 5 star (it couldn't be at these prices!!) BUT even though our room was basic it was clean and we had plenty of hot water. Had we left our key with reception our room would have been cleaned daily - so that was our fault. We found all the staff very helpful and the fact that there were security guards everywhere very reassuring. Not once did we feel intimidated by anyone wandering round the hotel. We just talked to everyone!!!
We didn't get pestered on the beach, we were asked if we wanted to buy stuff and the fruit ladies came daily, usually a firm no thank you sent people on there way. don't forget this is how many people earn there living!! As it was the last week of the season a couple of the trips we would have liked to do were finished - but what a good reason to go back!!!!!
