Always performed well for me, although battery life is not great.
Charging pin pulled away from motherboard 3 times when I removed AC adapter.
Hp repaired twice on warranty, the 3rd time I could not stand it.
Served me well up until the charging pin broke away from the mobo, i only ever inserted / took out carefully anyway.
HP said this was not a common problem / it is for me therefore I do not recommend HP Compaq NX8220.
