my dad has a BMW 318ie as it was always his dream to have a bmw. he bought it brand new in 1991. The car 'was' his pride and joy and its mostly garaged then drivin. after a few months the window winder on the drivers seat broke not to mention how hard it is 2 wind open and close all 4 windows. The material on the roof had just dropped to wot made it look like a tent inside. the A/C has always givin him trouble. spent 2 yrs trying to find wot was wrong with it, when they finally got it working we used it 4 1 summer, now it aint working again. the ashtray lid dont work its jammed open. The gear stick snapped open.
These are just a few points that i know of. Tho i do have to say its drive is very smooth and couldnt be better. just these bits and pieces that would of made the car perfect if avoided. My dad takes very very very good care of the car and is very gentle with it, so i cant imagine what else would of happened if he was rough.
