Guest's Review of Fellowes, Neato Fellowes DVD/CD Labeling System w/ MediaFace 4.0

Overall Rating

0.5 stars
  • Value for money
    1.5 stars
  • Time Labeling Kit Owned

Good Points

Simple to use ONLY if you want to use it simply.

Bad Points

- Supplied media has written on it 'Use template: A4 CD Labels with core and spine'. There is no template called this
- Using the wizard, then dropping into advanced mode doesn't create the correct project type, even according to their own website.
- Numerous basic GUI bugs.
- Copy/paste just doesn't work.
- No way to line up outer and core labels. (x,y positions and grids differ between the two labels, so you can't even use them)
- Text / font window too small to be legible with fancy fonts.

General Comments

As an experienced programmer, this system has all the hallmarks of poorly designed and written software that has been taken, rebadged and bundled with printer media with almost no effort given to make the package work effectively. Looks like most of the time was spent just changing the splash screens. Therefore do not recommend Fellowes

I reckon the online software is not good. but you can download the templates from their website http://www.neato.com/TemplateDownloads.aspx . So i think it is best to design the labels on Photoshop or word. They have templates in .PSD .PDF and .DOC formats.
