Bad Points
Poor service from the manufacturer.
General Comments
We had a great time with the EVT 4000e for a month or so until the first charger went bad. Got a replacement which lasted a few months and then it went bad. Couldn't get a third one because the company refused to take responsibility for their defective charger and get this...it's the only one that you can use for the EVT. So now, it looks like we are stuck with a three thousand dollar EVT with no way to charge it. Don't buy this. The word from our dealer, Alien Scooters in Austin, Texas, is that the company has decided to change focus fromt the EVT to a new product and is not keeping up with the parts and service that it promised it's customers per the warranty. If this company does not make it right with me, we will take it to a judge. If you have a similar issue, I'd love to hear from you.

I just had to get a new charger for my EVT 168. I bought my EVT used and the original owner bought it from Alien. I did not like my interaction with Alien. I have a feeling this new charger will not last long either and it set me back about $400. You can write to me at austinpepper at gmail. I wrote an email to the EVT america website and never heard from them either. I tried to find a different type of charger than the one that Alien sold me but since I don't know much about electronics I was afraid I would damage my batteries. I just had to buy a second charger for my EVT 168. It was not a pleasant experience. I don't like the service at Alien much either. You can contact me at austinpepper at gmail.

People, I have had a 4000e for 6 years now and last year my charger went out. EVT America does not supply them anymore (nor could I get a responce from any other dealer). To make a long story short, I purchased a $20 unit, 2.5 amp, charger from Hong chong and darn if it works just as good as the $400 piece of junk that came with the scooter. I complained about a 36 volt charger for my bicyle that I got from them (charger only) and they readily sent me a new one. The plug has to be changed over but it is only a two (+ and -) unit so it does not care what charger you use as long as it is a 48 volt. Try it, KC from AR.

You should purchase a reputable 48V charger. I purchased the QQE288-4CH42 charger. This seems to be a very high quality charger although I don't have enough miles on it to say for sure. It does have very good charge control.I have had two years experience with the 4808SRF from Soneil.
Too bad that none of the people importing the electric scooters seem to be interested in properly supporting their customers and products.
