General Comments
Those that complain that this gun is too hard to cock, or is too heavy or is inaccurate are either a bunch of kids or are just not right. I mean, seriously, even my girlfriend can cock this gun 30 or so times before she gets tired and she is only 160 cm tall and weigh 50 kg! It's all about the technique people. Think leverage.
And the weight? C'mon, 9 odd pounds aint heavy at all. If you're complaining that it's too heavy - find something else lighter like a plastic gun or water pistol. This gun is for a real man, or even woman.
Inaccurate i hear some of you say? Do your research first, experiment with different pellets and holding techniques. This gun likes the heavier pellets and a light hold. Remember that it becomes more accurate as you wear it in - which takes around 1000 shots or so.
Hard recoil? what is this, were talking about a gun design for destruction of life here. Those who are using it for this very purpose are not new age sensitive men or environmentalists or any other bunch of pansies. I love the recoil of this gun. Makes it feel like a 'proper' gun. And for those who complain that it breaks scopes? Well, don't be tight - go and get yourself a decent air rifle scope with decent mounts. Getting a cheap scope for this gun is like buying retreads for your Ferrari.

I couldn't agree with you more, springer air gunning is a technique, once mastered, or just used to it. You can shoot quite well, and you find ways to leverage your body to cock it. Once you get used to these you can shoot quite effectively and a lot cheaper that rimfire.

I have had Webley air rifles all my life and i totally agree with you,,,,,I fire nothing but Webleys,When i was in England i had the 12lb legal rifles and found they did the job they were intended to do,,,,,Shoot rabbits and do a bit of target practice,,,Rabbits at say 20-40 yards are killable with a 12lb none FAC rifle,,, over 40 yards and all your doing is causing the animal pain and maybe even a slow painful death,,,,
Now comes to the Webley Patriot and i find that it is the master of all spring air rifles,,, I own a Birmingham made Patriot .22 and its firing in at around 33lb with Accu-pells hollow point pellets,,,accuracy is coming in at 5/8 grouping at 40yards with tasco 3-9 sight,,, loctite and held in place well,,,It does need the odd clean and retighten every now and then but i always did this with every rifle i ever owned,,, I have this rifle a year now and fired around 4,000 rounds with it,,,,all accurate killing shots and when it hits a rabbit, bird, pigeon, pheasant, duck or magpie it does so with tremendous force and one shot always does the job to instantly kill pray,,,yes its a beast of a gun and yes its a little heavier than most,,, but people must understand,,, this rifle is not for the faint hearted or someone thinking that its a rifle for plinking,,,This rifle is a killing machine and i would recommend to anyone who are wanting to buy a rifle with a limited budget but wanting sheer power and accuracy to buy the British made Webley patriot,,The Turkish Hassan models just aint the same for reliability and the power is a lot less too,,, Maximum power on the Hassans are about 25lb,, Tip,,,You can tell a British made Webley Patriot as it says Made in Birminghan England on the side of the Barrel near the loading area,,,, So my recommendations are buy a British made Webley and look after it,,,,Keep it clean, respect its power and it will never let you down,,, and never buy cheap sights,,,, this rifle will bust a cheap sight and at the very minimum knock your crossairs off after one or 2 shots if you dare to use cheap sights,,, Im loving using this rifle and i hope to using this very firearm for many years to come,,,10-10 every time for this rifle which is fast becoming a classic in its own right,,, Oh yes and its a beautifully crafted and solidly made weapon too,,,,Many thanks,,,Tony McLoone,,,
