They don't hassle you with excursions when you are at the hotel.


General Comments

Where to start ??? I emailed Sovereign Holidays them asking for assistance with the hotel and special arrangements for a birthday whilst on holiday. They acknowledge the request and said they would be in touch. I never heard from them again on the subject.
Charged £99 each way for a private transfer ( for 2 ) from Cancun airport to hotel on Riviera Maya. This journey is approximately 30 minutes. They contracted the effort out to Hotelbeds. No information was provided for arrival. Expected to be met by driver with sign with our names. Had to find a guy holding the smallest sign who then put me in touch with another chap who had our names on the list but going to a different property than we were booked in. He subsequently realised it was a private transfer and found an envelope from Sovereign. Had to watch 20 further minutes for them to provide a vehicle. The return transfer was booked for 1400 for 1700 departure. At 1415 I endeavour to contact Sovereign's local "concierge" by telephone, then their local office. Both with no joy. Eventually managed to have the hotel provide a taxi at 1435 and made it to the airport at 1510. Virtually the last to check in ( so shoved in the middle bulkhead seat ) and no time to shop duty free either. The taxi we had provided by the hotel was $400 pesos ( that's about $40 US Dollars ).

COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Their actions to remedy the situation will dictate whether we ever use them again !
