Oversold tickets. A Passenger can not be sure that he/she will fly with the Flight that he/she chooses, they have a weird priority on that stand by list
In my opinion I believe that AA oversold tickets and then they put a lot of Passengers on the Stand by list. I had a bad experience with AA on my way back from a short trip in Miami when I was waiting in their "Stand by list" for about 20 hours in Airport. I felt lucky when I get in an Airplane and I felt sorry for the People that weren't that lucky as me. I even heard the number 82 on that Stand by list for a Passenger which prove that can not be just an error. When AA have more passengers for a flight they ask for Volunteers to give up their seats and board to the next Flight. If no Voluntary show up then they choose themselves some. It seems that People who pay good money for the tickets to AA needs to pray to get on the Flight that they had choose.
