Good Points

Its a Mk1 to start!, Fun to drive (sideways mostly), good to work on, loads of potential to modify, lots of clubs and things to do including competition. Also mines tax exempt!


Bad Points

Rust is a problem now due to their age, water leaks and general old car probs.


General Comments

I've had 2 Ford Escort Mk 1 now and i've loved them both, great retro cars with loads of potential to modifiy. Easy to work on compared most and real fun to drive.
My last one has an injected pinto in and is a pleasure to drive, ok on fuel and really reliable!
I recommend not trying to use them as an everyday car especially if you do lots of miles as they can get a bit much unless its in perfect nick then your ok until it rains!

Overall they are a true rally classic which are great cars to own and use.
