General Comments
I recently purchased an XL9, having owned an Air arms TX200 for some time(also an excellent rifle). Wasn't planning on spending so much, but when i picked it up the quality spoke for itself. This is very accurate with no recoil whatsoever, and the only noise you hear is the pellet hitting your quarry (to the extent you can take out several rabbits before they even know whats going on). Expensive piece of kit but worth every penny

Wots the Most Powerful Air Rifle U Can buy in the UK? - ScoobyNet
The best gun IMO is a Theoben Rapid MKII (like mine) or a Ripley XL9, or for less money Air Arms S410 / S200; If you don't fancy charging gear then, Falcon or Theoben.
