General Comments

What can I say about this Sony KV-28FX68U television apart from "wow". Probably like many people I had a hard time trying to choose a telly that for a cheap price would look good and have a great picture and sound quality.

Many nights of research on the internet and browsing in places like Comet and Dixons made my decision process more complicated.

My final decision was made after visiting an official Sony Shop, which unlike Comet and Dixons connect there TV's to sources that show a true reflection of the picture quality.

After numerous online searching I found Comet to sell the TV online for £540, nearly £200 cheaper than most competitors.

The stand took just under 2hours to put together, although I was taking my time. The TV and stand are amazing looking, really modern and stylish. Sony compared to many other TV's manufactures really know how to make the design's pleasing to the eye. The remote again looks the business and is layed out as you would aspect and feels right to hold. This was a factor that moved me away from Panasonic and JVC televisions because there remotes just looked cheap.

The Tv has the power button on the front, all the other functions are neatly located in a side compartment.

The picture quality is amazing really clear and crisp with bright vivid colours and the 100HZ , really compliments the picture quality. Having had a Philips Pixel Plus and Toshiba 100HZ, I can truefully say the Sony has the better picture quality. Even on a wireless TV link transmitting Sky; the picture seems better than on the Toshiba connected to the source.

The Sound really Kicks, the settings are all on default so can be increased, but there really is no need as it already blow's you away. The Virtual Dolby really kicks and on a music DVD the sounds feel rich and vibrant. Almost feel as if the band are in the room with you.

The clever addition is the Smart picture which adjusts the picture to fit the screen. Although it misses a bit from the top and bottom of the screen, it makes the image not look fat or stretched like most widescreen TV's do. The smart screen can also be moved if required. The TV also has the other standard sizes associated with Widescreen TV's.

The Tv has many connections including 3 scart leads useful for DVD, game systems etc. For Game system fans look no further; this TV really makes the games look impressive, after all Sony do make the PS2. My XBox looks the business on the TV, it really improves the overall experience of playing them.

Bad Points - if I was to be picky I would say the onscreen Menu is a bit naff compared to Philips, but sayin that I never access it anyway, there is no need too.

So go now and buy this TV! it really is truly amazing.

There is also a 32" version available.
