"Hard Pull" on credit report for "pre-approved" offer
Ridiculously low limits :$500 Platinum Card
I have never had a good experience with Capital One and should have known better than to try them again. But with an offer for a $20,000 limit Platinum Card with 0% interest for six months I tried them again. Bad move.
The card arrived with a whopping $500 limit.
Then when I checked my credit report there was a hard pull. This reduced my score by 10 points. Every other credit card that I have ever received from a pre-approved offer always did a soft pull. (No effect on credit score)
I spoke to customer service. They were rude and unhelpful. They could care less about your credit score.
Do not do business with this company. From what I have read elsewhere they seem to issue a lot of cards with very low limits ($300) and then make their money by charging over limit fees, annual fees, and high interest rates.
