Left hand doesn't know what their right hand is doing, unhelpful customer service, their staff seem to only be trained in making apologies and not actually dealing with problems.
Heres my experience... After bing a Aol member for a few years I received an email in my inbox saying Aol was sorry id decided to cancel my Aol account. I hadnt cancelled my aol account and had no idea why they said i had. I immediately contacted Live help and asked why i was sent the email only to be told, there was no record of me canceling and the email must be a fake. I was advised to ignore the email and pass it onto their security team via email which i promptly did. The next day I received a reply from their security team saying the email was an obvious fake and they thanked me for passing it onto them. Two days later my Aol account was locked and I couldn't get internet access, I telephoned their call centre and asked what was wrong, and explained everything I have stated here, they apologized and unlocked my account, saying that would be the end of the matter. Two days after that the Broadband connection disappeared out of my phone line, my account was acessable but there was no broadband connection at all. Again I contacted Aol via phone and asked what was going on, they apologised saying they had two different systems and the billing department hadn't told the technical department not to remove my broadband connection. Again they apologised and said theyd give me a free dial up connection while I had to wait several days for my broadband connection to be reactivated. After waiting the fiver days I again phones Aol asking why my broadband hadn't been enabled only to be told there was it would be done tomorrow, I rung the next day and was told to wait until tomorrow again, this continued for the besr part of a week, until I asked to speak to a manager or at least someone capable enough to understand what was going on with my account. Eventually I spoke to a Manager only to be told there was an error in making the original request to have my phone line broadband enabled and it would take another 10-14 days to be enabled. Finally I asked to be transfered to Customer services to cancel my account.
Therefore I do not recommend Aol Broadband.
