Great gas mileage.. between 25 MPG city & 30 MPG Hwy. even with a lead foot.
Fun.. and more Fun to drive around winding streets and hills (when gals aren't in the car with you). Car really stays low and hugs the road and never loses control.
Shifts easily and pedals are very responsive.
This is my second Porsche. I haven't had too much luck in keeping sport cars... It seems I can only keep them for 2 years out of every 5 years before getting rid of them (They're often more pretty to look at than to maintain). My '05 Porsche Convertible Boxster I bought New from a Beverly Hills Dealership and actually got $6000 off MSRP when no other dealer would budge. I guess Beverly Hills is the place to shop for a Bargain.
Not as fun as you would think for long drives up the Hwy. I'm an average built guy only 5'9" and found myself wanting to stop and pull over to take a break every 150 miles to stretch out my legs.
Lot's of noticeable interior/exterior wind noise (of course top is up).
Had a couple of stalls and you have to go through this safety system to restart your car that takes an few extra seconds to turn the engine over.... How safe is that if you're stuck in the intersection trying to restart your car? (Yes, I do know how to drive Manual shift)
I m not your average basic car owner. I'm outside the box when it comes to buying and owning cars. I spend hours and weeks and may take several months for me to research and find my next car. Thus far I have owned 20 cars in the past 25 years of my driving history. So believe me when I give advice on a car I've done my homework with true ownership experiences to put into place.
The Porsche Boxster I've had zero ownership problems or breakdowns. Rides comfort for average frame person. A real crowd pleaser, and just a fun ride for both daily commutes as well as weekend getaways. Great on the pocket book. Please, Never buy an automatic transmission for a sports car... It should be against the law if you do. Not only that, but you can bet on losing about $10,000 in resale value. Please drive Safe.
I do recommend Boxster's as a strong buy as an entry level or a person wanting to own their first Sports car.
