Its shows the basics of business. The key learning points are spread over the tasks and they are not only from Sir Alan but from each contender. There's a lot to learn in the world of business but basics are still the basics and this show draws focus on basics. Sir Alan is excellent, he is rude but he gives a proper feedback and justifies his decision/comment. In real world this is covered by diplomacy and hypocrisy.
The time scale for each task is too short and thus would lower effeciency. We as viewers are not interested in their personal lives and fights...people may watch big brother for that. Whether they may be men or women, everyone fights in the board room. Nobody should be allowed to interrupt while someone's talking. This should be started from Sir Alan.
It is not practical in real world as business decisions and actions are not carried out spontaneously. Instead of thinking back in the boardroom about what went wrong and would could have been done better, it would be more advisable to discuss what may go wrong and what could we do better because business is strict business!
