General Comments

I booked a flight to Thailand online and everything seemed fine. As per usual I received a confirmation email congratulating me on booking my flight. A couple of weeks later I realised the money hadn't been taken off my credit card so I rang Finn Air's office in London.

It was then I spoke to the rudest (female) customer service person in the world who told me the payment wasn't processed for some reason and she told me that I must have been emailed. As a regular checker of my Junk Mail I assured her I hadn't been, but she sharply insisted I had and that it was my fault. She then told me I should have noticed the money hadn't been taken out of my account. And all of this in the harshest tone of voice imaginable. I felt I was being told off!

I shop online a few times a week and if my card goes through on the website, that's the booking/purchase done and dusted. Not so with Finn Air.

After being left high and dry by Finn Air, the cost of flights had shot up by a few hundred quid, but thankfully I managed to get a direct flight with the wonderful Eva Air, for just 50 pounds more than I had paid for an indirect flight with FinnAir with a one hour stop in Helsinki. And this was a month after my original booking!

This was my first and last encounter with Finn Air. If you're going to Thailand from London and are trying to get a comfortable but economic flight, you should definitely fly with Eva.
