Good guard dog
overly friendly to other dogs (sometimes not appreciated)
require a lot of exercise and get bored easily
My patterdale ''Tinka'' has bought so much happienss and fun into our lives! You can teach her almost anything with treats, she is very friendly with all dogs and children but not too sure about people with hats & beards (my fault. make sure they are introduced at a young age).
I read negative comments about the breed prior to getting her and agree completley that if you train a dog well and are persistent - Your dogs behaviour will reflect that. I begrudge the comments I saw that tried to put me off the breed and think it very narrow minded to tar the whole breed based on one bad owner!
