Bad Points

Cd drive and hard disk crashed just out of warrantry - had disk repaired (6 weeks at repair in Germany) at cost, Acer by the way don't even communicate by email! Which mad the whole experience even more stressful) - now I have a screen full of little blue lines again, illegible - it's now cheaper to buy a new computer! -Oh and the hinges are cracked, one after a year, the second 6 months later -this is a laptop used mainly at home and treated with respect.


General Comments

My new computer will not be an Acer - I cannot recommend Acer.
I would always recommend the 3 year warranty - built in obsolescence seems to kick in just after one year. Wonder why? Therefore I do not recommend Acer Travel Mate 4001LCI
