Absolutely no redeeming points whatsoever never in a million years could i find something nice to write about them
claims service, untrained staff, claims service, inexperienced staff
I have had a motor policy with Churchill there have been two claims on the motor policy both of which have been dealt with in the most inept fashion possible to the point i would actually consider setting fire to my car and driving it through the reception of the claims office just out of desperation. They have effectively written off my old banger because someone has damaged the doors, now VOSA want a vehicle test carried out and a full engineers report the cars worth about £300. When I made changes at renewal Churchill told me they couldn't offer cover any more turned out to be wrong. I had the same problem with my NIG bike policy, and every year nig have issued my renewal notice with the wrong bonus on it add to this i had a direct line travel policy claimed and had loads of problems when they told me they wouldn't pay for my husband to see a dentist in the states (total cost £200) but they would fly us both home! why am I telling you this? because RBS Insurance own Churchill, NIG and Direct Line. In ALL of these cases (except the motor claim) it has only been resolved because i have spoken to the real underwriters and the only way i get to speak to them is that i actually work for RBS Insurance and i can look them up on our internal mailbooks for joe public you would never get to talk to these people and these are the only ones with the knowledge and common sense as for my claim i am still working on that one i have a meeting with a friendly underwriter later today! In the meantime as every policy renews i will transfer my business elsewhere given my experience i would never recommend these insurers to anyone unless i really hated them.
