General Comments

I bought this Limit 8072 dvd player 2 years ago for £150, and back then it was a pretty good deal considering DVD was relatively new then.

I was very impressed with the quality of the picture and sound, although I have not managed to connect to a 5.1 speaker system.

Overall it is good but in time I have found a few flaws.

Firstly I played VCDs on them and they all had Lip Sync problems. I thought it was the VCD's problem but I realised in time all vcd's had the same problems! So I conclude that it was the layer that was faulty.

I took it back to repair (after 2 years) and although they said it was not specified to play VCD's and do not guarantee they can resolve the problem, they agreed to fix it under the cover scheme.

They fixed and it was fine. And then recently some VCDs are having the same problem. Have not yet ensured it was the same for all yet. But I had no problems with DVD picture.

Other minor, I bought a legit DVD from Hong Kong and it had problems with the sound stuttering, but this was the only one film with that problem. But it plays fine with NTSC TV's, so not sure what happened there.

Also I have realised that with NTSC DVD's (from HK and USA), movies seem fine but with some Anime (Animation) the picture stutters a bit.

So it isn't perfect but still good value for it's variety of media types and the bog standard DVD viwers who are not too adventurous.

Also when fast forwarding, it jumps straight to 2X then take about 1 or 2 secs before you can press fast forward again for higher speeds of fast fowarding.

I also find the picture quality is dated now. Even the most basic machine are slightly better now. Unless they use better technology than the machines 2 years ago, I would recommend paying a little more for a little better.
