Good Points

Their actual customer service centre at Cardiff was actually very helpful, polite and appeared to know what I was talking about (I had a total loss claim on a car). I crashed my car on Tuesday and had the cheque on the Saturday.


Bad Points

DO NOT PAY THE EXTRA PREMIUM FOR CAR HIRE!I rely on my car and paid the extra and it wasn't worth it (see general comment)


General Comments

My dealing with Elephant Car Insurance was good, although there is a small clause in the policy which means if you have an accident they CANCEL your policy and if you pay monthly, they will take the remaining months premiums out of your settlement. Effectively I paid for 12 months insurance and got 4.
Also the extra courtesy car option-don't bother. They cancel your car hire 2 days after you receive your cheque - NOT 2 WORKING days, from receipt. I got mine on a Saturday and this doesn't even allow enough time for the cheque to clear. They sent me a letter (not recorded delivery or anything) to tell me this was happening ON THE DAY they wanted the hire car returned to them. Not reasonable in my opinion.
