I booked my holiday in november last year to goto mexico (Puerto Vallarta) this May and in the brochure it clearly shows 25kg of luggage allowance plus further 5kg hand luggage and also prebooked seats together. At the time of booking this the agent in Wolverhampton stated i would get all of these benefits as this was a Premier holiday. I just went top pick up my tickets on Sunday and found i do not have pre booked seats together and also do not have the extra luggage allowance. This is being blamed on the fact that it is not a Tompson flight but a First Choice flight instead so the small print in the back of the brochure covers this as a third party airline and it is not available.
This i do not aggree with as firstly when booking the flight i was advised i would definately get these benefits.
also the fact that Tompson and First Choice have merged companies this was in may 2007 i think and this is also the reason they are now sharing flights. Even the Tickets come with a TUI stamp on them (which is the name of the merged company)
I have spent a couple of hours in the Wolverhampton branch trying to sort this out but with no luck and being told that there is nothing that can be done other than sending in a letter of complaint.
Yes these are only small details of the holiday but how would anyone like to sit on a 14 hour flight next to strangers because someone told you your prebooked seats were included in the package.
