The bass box tends to rattle

for my taste - untill I got into service menu
Have a problem describing this JVC AV28R25EKS tv. When we bought this set it was after being very disappointed with a new Phillips 32"6506, the result was that at first it seemed that it was the business and I (forever) looking for a fault was blinded by science and the advertising which made the TV appear untouchable by other makes. Yep, I noticed a fault right away but wouldn't take it in till later. The tv's brightness level was to low. The contrast wasn't enough. The rest of the tv was great and the picture according to everyone else but not me was fine. I put up with it for a couple of months-then I had a mad snap, found a website which had info on this problem and altered the settings via the remote. Result? Yes in this case I am now happy with the tv picture having adjusted the levels in the service menu up to the correct ammounts. I know it might be me thats wrong here and it was 4 against 1 family wise but the tv had a slightly gloomy look to me and no-ones complained since. The instructions are hard work for this tv and any scart(3off)that I use for dvd does oddities to the picture width which can be altered etc, at this point I gave up and ran into culture shock. I'm only human and I can't control everything. To end this ; it's a nice well made flatscreen tv, dear at £599 when we bought it and the picture is between ok to very good for 4/5 of my family with very good sound. As a final matter of interest helped my mum to pick a new 28" widescreen Pacific from Asda at £200.00 early Dec 03 and the picture seems to me to be great, plenty of colour and brightness but does need setting on "full" on the screen settings setup. If I had to buy again I would get this in the 32" version and send it back if it wasn't right.
