Good Points

The car arrived on time.


Bad Points

Not checked in my presence. Left at main line dealership as agreed with Alamo. No problems when left by me. Checked my bank account online a week later to find that Alamo have charged me £123 for some damage, a dirty carpet on the nearside and fuel from depot to dealership.


General Comments

I am in the process of taking this further. How do I prove that I did not do any of the things charged when it was never checked in my presence and it was left at the dealership over the weekend? Customer Service department tell me that I was responsible for the vehicle for 6 working hours after hire charge ended. I am yet to find this in print. To say that I am not happy is an understatement. If you really have to hire from Alamo insist on a check before taking the vehicle and at the end of hire. Also be aware that you will be charged for the fuel involved in the delivery of the vehicle from their depot to the point of collection and return. I was not told.

    An update on the full message. I threatened Alamo with legal action and requested a list of things to be made available and not 'lost' or 'filed'. After a few weeks I received a letter stating that Alamo could not provide the information requested but as a 'goodwill' gesture were returning most of the money taken from my account. I have accepted this and dropped proposed action. I will never use Alamo again.
