Extreme hike in premium after crash.
In Feb this year I crashed my car after hitting a patch of moisture on the road, skidding across the road over a verge and into a wall, the car ending up on its roof. As expected the car was written off as economically unviable to repair which was fair enough. I phoned the claims department on day one and they were very helpful and friendly and made sure i was alright which was a nice touch. Received a letter a week later saying it was written off, followed by a cheque for a reasonable amount of the cars value. I contested the value with the assesor who agreed with me that the initial value was too low and received a further cheque the following week. I have to say that this was my first experience with any claim and that all the customer service that i experienced was excellent, i couldn't fault a thing. I would use them again however post-claim the premuim is more than twice what other insurers ask.
