Fact; $70-$90, 600fps, Accurate as anything out there when scoped,
Co2 cartridges are cheap when bought in large amounts. Trigger will break in!
Lightweight, and easy to operate.
Scope mounts are extra and need to be mounted firmly.
C02 cart need to be lubed in order to remove easily.
Trigger needs to break in. 5lbs from the factory is better than most but > 3lbs is easy after polishing.
After 25 rifles Chinese American and European, springers and C02's I decided to try the 2260 as an economical project. I wanted to see how good a gun could be had for as little money as possible. Especially since spending close to $175 at Crosmans Custom Shop earlier!
Now you should know I don't have any reservations about taking my gun apart and working on it so maybe thats why I give the 2260 such high marks.
I polished the trigger,
Cleaned the Barrel using Miltech brand cleaner lube, (used by the military)
Trued the crown of the barrel, and
installed a 3-9 power cheapie BSA 20mm scope due to it's light weight and the flimsy intermounts as they're called from Crosman accessories necessary to apply the scope to the barrel.
I always apply a dot of Pellgunoil to the tip of each C02 cart and rub a tiny amount of Miltech to the outside of the cartridge to insure easy removal. Once this oil penetrates the walls of the Cart holder this will no longer be necessary and the cartridges will never get stuck. Finally I went over the gun checking the tightness of all screws and hexes.
Lets face it guns are not an appliance but a piece of machinery and if you want to get reliability and the most out of your machine you need to fine tune and maintain it.
I'm now shooting this affordable lightweight gun 25 yards and consistently getting 3/4 inch groups, I'm not a marksman mind you, I don't even consider myself that great a shooter.
I can do it all day and not tire from pumping or cocking.
