Good Points

Looks good, feels good, works good and even shoots good. One BB gun to rule them all!

Bad Points

It hurts when you drop the 15 round heavyweight mag on your foot!

General Comments

This KWC Walther P99 is the God of all BB guns! I bought it a year ago and it is one of the best things I have ever bought! My version features the outstanding hop up system. This is where backspin is applied to the pellet as it leaves the gun. This means that the pellet will travel flatter for longer and believe me it works! After watching my best friend receive a pellet to the shin at 10m and then seeing the effects of this for weeks after made me all the more careful as I used my gun. The saftey catch can be operated with the left or right hand. The top slide will lock back on your last shot as you would expect from a high quality gun maker. This gun will hit the target from 20m+ provided there is no wind. It will also smash a CD from 15m! This is the best 6mm gun on the planet. Any q's just post them and I will get back to you.

   You're review is truly pathetic mooseman. I don't think you know what the GOD of all airsoft guns is! If you want to know what the god of all airsoft guns is you should try a Tokyo Marui(TM) Benelli Super 90, or maybe a Glock 18c with blowback. Or, the Sun Project M40A1, and the Auto Hardball 2 Border Patrol version shotgun!

   Hey kid. Just wondering if there is any reason why you dont like the P99? This review isnt about a gas blowback or shotgun I wrote this review to help people who are looking for a quality spring soft air gun. However if you are interested in a gas or shotgun then take a look at the kids review because it sounds like he's got some pretty hot stuff!

   Mooseman,
   I also have the p99 in hop up form and say it was an above average pistol, but I also had the non hop up version which broke but I would say the non hop up one was more accurate,I could hit the same spot on a target 2&3 times in a row, but I feel the hop up version is not as good for targets but can penetrate boxes etc from further away. As for smashing cds at 15 meters (49 feet!!)my hop up gun can only crack them at about 25-30 ft then eventually after maybe 10 or so good shots it will break. Bye for now

   I don't like the P99 because it is unreliable, and has innadequate firepower even for a spring pistol. The KWC P226 has a 30 fps higher muzzle velocity. The P99 is one of the slower spring pistols, that is probably why I don't like it. And you can get a P99 from Big 5. And you know it's cheap when they sell it at Big 5!!!

   AZ kid... big 5 sells the Crosman version, not the KWC. the crosman version (judging on defectives) seems like a very unreliable pistol, but looks cool and has a lot of features. and granted big 5 does sell a lot of rubbish quality stuff, there are a couple airsoft guns there that are golden.

   well if you go to paintballonline.com and you spend moore than 25 dollars you get the P99 FREE so thats why im getting it ... im a paintball person not airsoft... paintball seems more hardcore... maybe its just me ? i've never played airsoft battles

   outstanding gun but due to the lack of external hammer if they go wrong you might be stuck. Does anyone know who to stip the gas version down?

    Hey, the people that gave this a 10 are the smart ones. AZ kid and viper390, the second word of your name is "kid" so you should love this gun. Besides, the real steel P99 was designed to look futuristic. Plus this was a review on a SPRING airsoft gun. DUH! I recently went to BIg 5 and sacredsamurai is right, Big 5 has the Crossman version. peace.
