Good Points

Appears well constructed, although a few niggles such as a screw with a crossed thread did not look good.

Bad Points

This deals with the fixing of the Ryobi ERT-2100v router to the table.

General Comments

TheRyobi ART-3 Router Table and the ERT-2100V plunge router are sold as capable of being used together. However, there are a few very confusing parts to this union. The ART-3 hanbook sates that there are five threaded holes in the base of the router that are used to fix it to the table. There are plenty of holes, but not five that can be used to mount the ERT-2100V router. In fact the only screws that will fit this base are three 6mm x 30mm screws in the packet supplied with the table.

If you try mounting the router with these screws after removing the router base plate (you are told to do this), then these three screws are too long by 5mm. They bottom out, which means that the router is left hanging loosely. You CAN mount it if you leave the base plate on, but this results in the collect being far to low to be of use. Contacting the Ryobi technical help section I found that this problem was known, and they sent me a set of screws to mount the router to the table. When they arrived they turned out to be a replica of those provided with the table.

I found it impossible to contact Ryobi again so I cut 5mm off the three screws mentioned. This worked OK, but the collect is still rather low and the spanner provided is impossible to use on the sunk collect. I needed to grind down the spanner width so that it would fit. It seem to me that Ryobi should take this problem on board.

I also found that the instruction manual for both of these tools were very perfunctory, with loads of difficult to understand pictographs. These need some serious reworking.
