General Comments
I recently became the owner of a .22 Harrier X thumbhole. I had liked the look of it and the stated power of the X and these were the deciding factors and also the Daystate name. When seeing it for the first time it looked nice. I was a little surprised that there was no bluing on it at all. The stock finish was nice but not great (in all fairness I was told that the stock had a few nicks on it and it was the last one left) and was a little rough on this paticular one. With a little sanding and some JM ROL it looks fantastic now. I also added a JM brass trigger guard to match the brass trigger. I will try to post some pictures soon.
Looking at the power and accuracy asspect of it, I was not able to achive the stated 40 ft-lb of energy by simply adjusting the by striker length. The accuraccy was fair to good at best at 45 yds. There were several reason why but I wont go into it. After stripping it down going over every little detail, refinning, modifiying, matching the internals and some secret modifacations (LOL Dont Ask I dont kiss and tell). I now beleave I had a diamond in the rough. I was plesantly surprised with the fruits of my tweaks. I was able to achive the 40+ ft-lb and much better groups (dime to nickle size) at 45 yds with more shots and much better and tighter FPS curves at such a high power setting. I truly beleive that the gun will do better in the hands of a better shot than I. I am a pretty good shot but I need to work on my trigger pull and follow through.
The pellet of choice on this one is the Jsb, which is surprising because the probe doesn't push them far enough in the barrel. The skirt ends up being about .030 thou in the barrel transpher port hole. The kodiaks are good at 920 Fps with not as tight a group and RWS Heavys 28 grn. coming in 3rd at 830 Fps. Both the heavys and the kodiaks seat past the port but are a little tight.
Fill was 2.25 bar 16 grn JSB's

As you can see I could probibly get another 10 usable shots buy simply lowering down the power a bit. I rather have the power as long as the accuracy goes along with it. Besides I will be using it mosty for hunting.
In all fairness to Daystate am not trying to imply that every gun is or isn't like this paticular one. Perhaps this one was built on a Friday or a Monday LOL. I have owed around 30 or so air guns threw the years by every manufactuer out there. My expereance has been that I can count on one hand with fingers left over, guns that where 100 % from the get go.
I am in the process of making a longer .22 16 mm barrel and a .25 version of the X. I will post an update when I get it completed.
I hope you enjoyed reading my 2 cents on the X.
PS my rating's are before tune and I now give it a 9+. Nothing's perfect
