Overall Rating

4.5 stars
  • Value for money
    4.5 stars
  • How do you rate the road handling?
    4.5 stars
  • What vehicle are the tyres fitted to?
    BMW Z3 2.0l
Good Points

Excellent traction both wet and dry. Cornering is smooth, with rarely any loss of grip. Durable. Reduced tendency to aquaplane.

Bad Points

When tread is low (6mm or less) aquaplaning is a problem.

General Comments

I can't fault these tyres. I've had them on a Z3 2.0L (rear wheel drive) and they have lasted 19,000 miles so far (30500 km c/a). I switched the tyres on the rears to the fronts due to uneven wear (more on fronts due to rear wheel drive) after 15000 miles which helped extend the life of the full set. Aquaplaning isn't a major issue with these tyres (except when they are apporaching the end of their life), grip around the corners is brilliant, and in both wet and dry conditions. Scrub in period was roughly 600-700 miles, which wasn't too bad to get them to grip their best. In the initial 600-700 miles, I didn't fully test their capabilities however I can say that I have never had any scary moments with these tyres, and that's the case even when indulging in more "enthusiastic" driving. Road noise is average, and not majorly noticable. If it weren't for the lack of supply in my fitting size forcing me to try the Eagle F1 asymmetrics, I would undoubtedly go back to a set of GSD3's.
