Good Points

Sometimes they happen to find a flight at a reasonable price for students.


Bad Points

If anything goes wrong, or you want to change your flight, they did not get it right the first, second, or third time. Their customer service is absolutely terrible over the phone.


General Comments

First of all, they never sent me my ticket, so at the last minute they had to issue me an electronic ticket. When I got to the airport, they didn't have my ticket in the system and said I would need to pay an additional $200 to get the paper ticket STA lost reissued. I called STA, and was able to get them to reissue my ticket AGAIN just before my flight took off.

Second of all, just three weeks after I left to study abroad, I decided I wanted to extend my stay (quite common, right?). So I called STA, 3 months before I was due to return to the United States, and requested that I change my flight. They said they would need to contact the airlines, and that they would email me with an update. A week later, having heard nothing, I called them again. This time they said they were almost done, and to wait a few more days. A week later I received an email saying that were beginning to work on getting the ticket changed. After another week they finally got back to me, offered me a flight at a reasonable price, and I paid. They said they would issue my ticket within 24 hours of payment. 2 MONTHS LATER, after calling and emailing weekly, having spoken to numerous supervisors, and at least 5 regular advisors, and twice being forwarded to other departments, they email me requesting another $250 because it is so close to my departure date.

So, long story short, they lost my paper ticket, failed in issuing me an electronic ticket, lied to me about the price to change my ticket, and took a total of two and a half months to extent my flight. This is by far the worst service I have ever received.
