Good Points

Have had the Fastbake breadmaker 48280 for 16 months and was really happy with the results once I had learnt a few tricks like water first, then the oil followed by even layer of flour. Then devote a corner each to the milk powder, sugar, salt and yeast.

Bad Points

I took great care of the pan but finally the spindle seized up and locked solidly. I think that oil must eventually work its way down the spindle and the baking turns it to hardened varnish. What a disppointment to see such a mess in the pan the following morning!

General Comments

I applied penetrating oil to the spindleof my Morphy Richards 48280 in an attempt to free the spindle but it soaked straight through without any result. So I put a tissue inside the pan around the spindle and soaked this with penetrating oil 3 or 4 times a day. After a few days - finally success! The spindle reluctantly turned and then freed up quite quickly. I have yet to see if any remains of the penetrating oil in the spindle taints the bread!
