Some horrible middle-age fat lady clothes, very small sizes


General Comments

Having shopped in Evans for many years whilst I had to wear plus sizes clothes I was always very happy with them. But after a few years away (I lost weight, going down to an 18, and found I could buy clothes elsewhere) I have gone back to Evans and am a bit disturbed by what I think is a 'marketing ploy' with their sizes.

I am currently a size 22 trouser in Monsoon and Marks & Spencer . But when I shopped in Evans the other day, not only could I not fit into any of their size 22 trousers, alot of their 24's were too small also!

How can this be? I know many stores clothes sizing differs, but Evans is a plus size store you would not expect their sizing to be on the small side! My only thought was they wanted to keep people thinking they needed larger sizes and therefore keep them shopping at Evans.

Before I lost weight I never went into any other store but Evans because I didn't see the point - they never had anything to fit me and I was embrassed. But many stores now go up to 18s, 20s and even 22s. Yet if you think you're a size or two bigger (which if wore Evans clothes you would) you might not bother looking .... and I think that is their game. Make the fat chicks think they are even bigger than they are ... why else would someone who comfortably fits a 22 in Monson and M&S need a 24 or 26 in Evans!
