Good Points

Excellent sound quality and very durable. Quality has not diminished over time. (purchased in 1975). Enough real power to drive the most demanding speakers. Because of the efficiency of most new speakers, I can't turn the volume control past 3 or 4 for fear of blowing yet another pair of woofers.


Bad Points

The speaker circuits will blow a fuse if short circuited. All the input jacks face upwards and collect dust over time. Most original jack covers are long lost.


General Comments

Excellent sound quality and very durable. Bought my Sansui AU 7900 in 1975. Has been used to power home stereo systems, dances at school gymnasiums, and more recently, complete home entertainment systems. I've blown through a half dozen pairs of speakers from Pro Linear to Bose 501's and the amp refuses to die. I've had a few minor repairs performed and the repair shops love to work on it. Will probably have it for another 30 years.
