Battlefield 2 is a game that has a lot of arcade in it which means there is a lot of fun. There are a lot of mods so if you get tired of the vanilla you can play on some great mods like Project Reality (2nd in ModDB best mods of the year) and Forgotten Hope 2 (4th in ModDB best mods of the year after its first release!). A lot of people still play on Battlefield 2.
Battlefield 2 can suffer from a lot of lag especially from servers that are not from your continent. The graphics are a bit outdated compared to today's standards like Assasin's Creed.
You can play Battlefield 2 on single player but its best played on multi player as the AI are not smart in my opinion. Battlefield 2 uses a built in VOIP system which is great but in my experience I have barely seen people using it except on Project Reality.
