General Comments

The Ford Escort was the first manual transmission car I ever drove and it is rubbish! The gears stick constantly, the seats are uncomfortable, the acceleration allows you to go from 0-70 in about 20 minutes as everyone else on the road drives by honking and screaming and, worst of all, it's designed for giants. I am a small individual and even with the seat all the way forward I can't push the clutch down properly unless I wear giant platform shoes.

All in all, I cheered when my husband got rid of his Escort and bought something better.

I agree with your review, I had to borrow my boyfriends Escort for a couple of weeks, I normally drive a Vauxhall Corsa. I am 5ft 3" and I found the seats to be really low, I couldn't see the road vey well, I also had the clutch problem. I felt like I was driving a tank!

I also own an escort, I love the car but again at 5 foot 3 I have the same clutch problem, if clutch extensions are available i'd love one.

Can't really agree on this one - I'm 6ft2 and find the car too small for me. My wife is 5ft6 and finds this fine. Saying that, I'm not all that keen on the car itself and want another Merc.
