Looks really good
The flashy layout can make it a bit busy and hard to read at times
Bang is a unique music paper in that it doesn't take itself too seriously. It resembles the old Britpop staples Select and Vox in its style, choosing lots of bright graphics, loads of pictures and quirky monthly features, such as "Ask Wayne Coyne" where the incredibly strange lead singer of the Flaming Lips answers readers' questions. The letters section itself is often a mix of actual letters and joke letters created by the staff, which can be rather amusing.
It can be hard to read because of all the graphics and the wild layouts, but the content is pretty good. The focus is on new bands (i.e. groups of individuals who write their own songs and play their own instruments, not groups of young boys put together by a marketing department) and the magazine does cover a lot of ground. On the whole it's generally an enjoyable read.
