Excellent, efficient service
£100 when you open an account and transfer a salary of £1500 or more.
If any , they have no branches, but cheques can be paid into any HSBC branch.
I have banked with first direct for just over a year now and have found them to be provide excellent 24/7 customer service. Whenever I have contacted them, I have never been transferred to another department or operator which has certainly been the case with previous banks that I have banked with, and my queries have always been answered wholly.
As far as being discriminatory is concerned, I disagree as far as the £10 per month is concerned, as this is also waived if you have a savings account/credit card/loan. In terms of the £100 being credited to those customers who have a salary of £1500 or more transferred to the account when they open their account, this is perfectly justified on an economic/strategic basis.
If you are in need of a bank that provides you with high levels of customer service outside of the 9-5 when branches are open, First Direct as definitely the bank for you!
