Good Points

A handsome car which to the unitiated looks like a 2 door coupe. Strong performance from the 2.0 t-spark engine. How many other 5 seater 2.0 cars are this quick? Excellent handling especially with the lowered Veloce suspension. Good driving position.

Bad Points

Weak windscreen wipers. Brakes can fade after prolonged heavy use. Poor service from main dealers. Poorly mounted CD player causing rattles. Veloce suspension is hard at low speeds around town.

General Comments

I Purchased my Alfa 156 2.0 twin spark new as a parallel import for £15k almost 3 years ago, my 156 has worked for its living, having now covered 45k with nothing serious to report. Cambelt and tensioners needed replacing as a precaution at 40k as there was no tension left. Only uses 3/4 ltr of oil between services. I took the front of the dash apart and remonted the CD player after getting fed up with it rattling. Nothing has dropped off otherwise and the car is a joy to drive hard, especially after getting it modified at Monza Sport recently. Now much more torque in the lower revs.
