Good Points

Very good sales spiel
Changed last year
Cheaper than the company i had been with for several years

Bad Points

Will never again listen to sales team from Barclays insurance sales again or any other of their products. After the week we have had dealing with their claims department. Myself and my husband have banked with Banked with Barclays for 30years,and are changing to another bank, and insurer.

General Comments

We had a bad snow storm on Sunday night, waking up to inches of snow. Before I left for work i noticed a trickle of water coming through my ceiling in my Bay window. Left bowls and towels to soak up water. When my husband came home from work contacted Barclays. The water was a little heavier but still manageable with a bowl. After being put on hold for twenty mins then hung up on, finally told someone would come out and repair roof. Great we thought. Workmen came next day said they were doing a temporary repair and someone wood be out later in week to fix problem. Temporary repair actually made it worse. We are now sitting 5 days later after bouts of heavy rain, Lost nights sleep getting up to empty buckets. lost count of phone calls we have made. With our sitting room carpet soaked, ceiling coming down, bedroom carpets and walls soaked. Then told at 9pm on Friday night they are not repairing our roof as we are not covered and they say it is wear and tear. After telling them again we had water flooding through our sitting room ceiling . They said they will get workmen out tomorrow and have slapped some temporary gunk on, we can only hope now it holds till this is resolved. We know it was caused by heavy snow which is classed as storm (heavy snow) damage. But the fact they kept telling us someone would be out to fix it all week is unforgivable.

I found this review very helpful because... I have had a similar problem.
Came back home after being away for the weekend. In the evening noticed the bed was soaking wet- literally like a sponge. The covers, mattress, divan etc., plus all the bedding in the underneath drawer.
Telephoned Barclays and eventually got through. Could not get a sensible answer. They e-mailed back yo say a company called Chem-Dry is managing your claim throughout. After hearing nothing for a couple of days, again phoned Barclays who said ring Cek-Dry who said ring Barclays. Eventually the roundabout stopped and Chem-Dry said they can't do anything until a company called Asprea is dealing withit.
Asprea came round after a couple of days to assess damage. Said you guessed it. "wear and tear".
We now have bed in the garage as we cannot live with the horrendous smell caused by the damp. Someone coming out in a few daYS TIME TO ASSESS BED DAMAGE.
I would not give Barclays the s..t off my shoe. They ara a hopeless incompetent lot. I have banked with them for over 30 years but have only had their insurance for one year; and this is the first claim.
I advise anyone to stear well clear of them.
