Poor Customer Service,
Account Chaos
On hold forever,
Incorrect Billing,
Phone cut off Despite in Credit,
Now BT wholesale won't let me go elsewhere!
BT unlimited weekends worked out to be considerably more expensive.
BT wholesale and BT retail won't work together.
I foolishly tried to switch back to BT in Aug 2007.
My phone line had been with BT previously so should be no problem.
1. They sent an engineer who had nothing to do and charged me £124.99.
2. They then billed me for new imaginary number although I was still using old one.
3. Took 2 months to actually get account switched.
4. Despite paying by direct debit - phone cut off - no outgoing calls. BT call this restricted. Extreme problems getting bill paid. 2 complaint letters and report to OFCOM got bill paid and a refund for the engineer but still no outgoing calls.
5. Experienced appalling customer service repeatedly on hold at least 40mins - bounced from pillar to post, cut off, put back in queues after waiting 40mins, could only get people that actually had a clue during office hrs. Had to call from work so now my entire open plan office know of BT failings.
6. Finally in desparation I emailed to CEO and after 3 months without a phone they sorted it in 2 days.
7. Tried to switch calls to another company - now BT WHOLESALE say my line has call barring and is not compatible, but BT RETAIL says it is fine. There is not a thing I can do - stuck with BT forever it seems.
