General Comments

I purchased a model 94 in .22 cal with a standard RWS scope about 4 months ago and I have put approx 600 rounds through it. Although I have only tries 2 types of pellets (daisies pointed tips and the RWS hunting blunt nose) I have not been impressed with the rifle to date. I was at least expecting some improvement over my Benjamine .177 but that simply hasn't happened. At 25 yards I am having a tough time getting a 1-1/2" group and beyond that is anyone's guess. The rifle actually appears to shoot better with steel sights and only marginally better with a red-dot scope. I often get 2 flyers out of 5 shots on a bench rest. If this is what I can expect from a rifle that costs $200 those Wal-Mart special are starting to look pretty good. Maybe it's the pellets or possibly the scope but as of this moment, this thing is not the bargain I was hoping it to be.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment, you should try different pellets, my rifle shoots rws hobbies ok or daisy maxspeed are ok, my rifle seems to like a loose fitting pellet, I tried copperhead wadcutter, have to push the pellets in, I could hear them squeak going in, they flew all over the place at 20 yards, after a couple hundred shots, I oiled the air chamber and main spring, do not know that it shot any straighter, but the rifle was smoother ( rws air chamber oil and rws spring cylinder oil) 3-4 drops on each. I wish you better luck.

Texasgreg, try a Daisy 3-9x32 scope and Daisy Maxspeed wadcutters-I've found this combo to be very effective out to 40 yds easy on squirrels-let me know how you make out.....

Well, after about 600 shots of about 3 different types of pellets I finally found a winner that would hold a grouping (RWS Meisterkugeln). It's a flat head 14 grn with a simple non-ribed skirt and counterbore in the rear that seals consistantly every shot. I re-mounted the RWS scope after getting mixed results from the red dot I tried and zeroed in 3 shots in the same hole at 20 yards and a 1/2" group at 40. It's amazing what the right pellet can do. Now I feel a little bad about the less than stellar review I initially made. I guess I should have waited for the gun to settle down a bit. My appology to RWS.

Have you learned how to shoot a magnum springer airgun?? I have both .177 & .22 as well as several on the Fun Supply Airgun Forum and shoot .5" to .25" ctc groups at 25yds. There is a technique required to shoot any springer. You DO NOT shoot them like a firearm or a pneumatic pumpup or CO2..The like to be shot with a VERY LIGHT HOLD..The less pressure you put on the gun the better. Visualize letting the gun fire and recoil loosly without any hindrance from you. Hope this helps....
    Kind regards,
    Anthony
